“I participated in an Oxford MCBT course delivered by Jayne.  I’d been suffering from burnout, and as a result had recently developed panic attacks and was looking for a way of navigating my way through this tremendous discomfort.  A friend had seen the course and recommended I take a look. 

 At that time in my life, I’d always been very sceptical of anything I didn’t have an upfront, rational explanation for, yet I had been practising hot yoga which I had found had positive benefits for me.  I went to Jayne’s taster session and within 30 minutes I had the clear, scientific explanation of what was happening with my mind, and how the brain-body connection worked, which was causing my physical discomfort.

 Keen to know more I enrolled on the 8-week programme, and thoroughly enjoyed each session.  Jayne’s understanding of the fantastic source material, and inclusive, empathetic approach to the delivery were exactly what I needed in my life at that time. 

 Completing the programme with Jayne honestly changed my life.  We come across many opportunities in our lives to take a different path to the familiar one, yet we rarely do.  I’m forever grateful that Jayne showed me this path and helped me understand that ‘the voice in my head’ is not ME – I am the one who chooses to listen and act upon it, or not as the case may be.  I am not my thoughts.

 My life isn’t perfect, but it’s so much better now - I still lapse into the human condition from time to time (daily!) but I’m reminded of Jayne’s teaching and I am able to take strength in the knowledge that my thoughts don’t have to control me.”

I found really good discussion were had in these and I always looked forward to this part of the session. Jayne led the sessions with confidence and had amazing knowledge of all things mindfulness. The session included some time to practice and reflect but also some scientific study which was really interesting.
